Money
We are not profitable yet. Revenue is what customers paid us; spent is what the company paid or already owes, such as VAT that is due later (marked below). This is a cash view from bank statements, invoices and order records, not the company's accounts, so the result is not the accounting profit or loss. It covers the time since the company took the name ARLing on 18 March 2026; the years before are listed below.

What we are trying now
Each test has a number that decides it. What did not work stays on this list.
-
Running Better titles, tags and categories for 15 Etsy listings
We rewrote the listings in the words people search for and moved several into the right category. We compare their views and orders with listings of the same age.
Starting point: 378 listings, 465 views in total, 5 orders since the shop opened.
Since 19 Oct 2026. Decision on 2 Nov 2026.
-
Waiting Etsy ads, second try, only on listings that already sold
Four listings, $1 a day. If ads bring back less than 1.5 times what they cost, or no order, they go off. We decide a week after the start.
The first try did not work: in 13 days ads cost €14.11 and brought back €0.50 to €0.61 for every euro spent. Break-even is about 1.25. It stays on until we switch to the four listings.

Running Videos with your names, now made in your own browser
First we planned to make each video by hand after the order. Now the buyer types the names into an editor on our site and the video is made on their own device, so nobody waits for us. The first one is a New Year's Eve video invitation.
The made-to-order version failed our quality check on 19 Oct: Etsy marks digital orders as delivered at once, so our order robot would never have seen them. The editor passed on its third check, recorded both video sizes on the live site and went on sale on Etsy on 19 Oct for €9.90. No orders yet. Halloween did not work either: 15 Halloween listings got 3 views in a week, so we made nothing new for it.
The New Year's Eve invitation on Etsy
Since 19 Oct 2026. Decision on 16 Nov 2026.
-
Running Business videos on LinkedIn, not on YouTube
Our YouTube audience is mostly young people, so YouTube keeps only fun videos: simulations, illusions and puzzles. Videos for shop owners go to LinkedIn and to the communities where merchants ask questions.
The planned YouTube Short about 113 Shopify stores was cancelled and goes out on LinkedIn on 22 October.
The study of 113 Shopify stores
Since 19 Oct 2026.

Waiting Two Shopify apps for merchants
Agentic Product Check and Orbling are waiting for Shopify's review. Our goal is the first paying merchant.
No installs yet. Clicks on paid products on our websites in the 72 hours before 19 October: 0.
Since 19 Oct 2026.

Running Christmas window projections, made in code
Six animated Christmas scenes for a projector in the window or for a TV, rendered from our own code and sold as an instant download on Etsy. We promote them with Pinterest pins and one post per network.
On sale on Etsy since 19 Oct for €9.90. No orders yet. We check the views on 22 and 26 October.
Since 19 Oct 2026. Decision on 16 Nov 2026.
Written by hand, updated when something changes. Last change 19 Oct 2026.
How these numbers are made
Visits come from Umami, an analytics tool we run ourselves. It sets no cookies and does not keep IP addresses. Only visits to arling.sk count, not our own tests on other addresses. One person who opens two of our sites counts as two visitors.
We leave out the bots we can recognise: all visits from Singapore and China (almost all were bots), data centres such as Ashburn or Des Moines, screen sizes no person uses (for example 800x600 or 2000x2000), Linux computers outside Slovakia, and visits whose location has no city. We also leave out bursts that look automated: three or more visits from the same country in the same minute, with the same browser, system and screen, each opening one page. We also leave out our own computers we can recognise. This removes some real people too, mostly on mobile networks, and some of our own phone visits may still be counted.
From 27 to 30 September 2026 our analytics recorded the location of our own proxy server instead of the visitor (mostly Vienna and Prague). Without the location we could not tell people from bots, so visits from those days are left out of all numbers.
To protect visitors, numbers below 5 are shown as "under 5". Places appear only as dots rounded to about 50 km, and only where we counted at least 5 different devices (browser, system, screen and language), so one person who opens several of our sites cannot make a dot alone. Today is never shown; the newest day is yesterday. Etsy orders are shown as a count, without countries or amounts. The numbers are refreshed automatically every morning; the list of experiments is written by hand.
Money: revenue from Etsy's order records and from Stripe; costs from the company's bank statements, supplier invoices and Etsy's own payment records, plus our estimates, which are marked. The AdMob figure is an estimate and is not counted until Google pays it.
Map data: Natural Earth, public domain. The globe is drawn with three.js (MIT licence), served from this site. Apart from our own analytics, the page loads nothing from other servers.
