Terms

This is a symbolic entertainment product. You are not buying ownership of anything, and the purchase gives you no right, title or claim to any real land, sea, seabed or airspace anywhere on Earth. You are buying a licence to show a name, a link and a drawing on one square of our map, and nothing else.

Who you are dealing with

What you buy

You buy a non-transferable entertainment licence to display a name you choose, one link and one drawing of 32 × 32 pixels on one cell of the grid on the map at arling.sk, for the period set out below.

The grid is ours. It divides the Earth into 5 092 954 cells, each one row of 0.09 degrees of latitude tall and one column wide, and it exists only on our map. Your parcel number is the position of your cell in that grid.

What you do not buy

Not land and not sea. No title deed, no maritime claim, no right to any real ground, water, seabed or airspace, anywhere on Earth.
Not an investment. We will never tell you a square can go up in value, because it cannot.
Not crypto, not an NFT, not a token. There is no chain and there is nothing to trade.
Not gambling. You pick the square yourself at a fixed price. Nothing is random and nothing is won.
Not an SEO service. Every outgoing link carries rel="nofollow ugc" and we promise no benefit to your ranking.

The whole map is on sale, and that is not a statement about anybody

Every cell of the grid can be bought: land, sea, ocean, Antarctica and areas whose status is disputed or undetermined. What you buy is a square on our map, nothing more.

Sea and ocean squares give you no right to any water, seabed, fishing, navigation, cable, pipeline or resource, and no maritime claim of any kind.
Antarctica is governed by the Antarctic Treaty. Buying a square over it changes nothing about that, and we make no claim there and grant none.
Disputed and undetermined areas. Where the map data gives us no country code for a piece of land, we do not assign one. The certificate and the square page show the name of the area as recorded in our map data and the coordinates, and no country. This is not a political position, a recognition, a denial of recognition or a legal opinion. We take none, because it is not ours to take.
Place, sea and area names come from Natural Earth 1:10m (public domain). Where a name is disputed, the name we display is the one in that dataset and is not our endorsement of it.
Nothing you buy here can be used as evidence of any claim, before any authority, in any country.

How long the licence runs

The licence runs for as long as we operate the service and at least until 31 December 2029. EU rules on digital content require a clear duration, and "forever" is not one.

If we decide to stop operating the map, we will tell every owner by e-mail at least 60 days in advance. Any part of a subscription you have already paid for and cannot use will be refunded pro rata. One off purchases of a square are not refunded after that minimum period has passed, because the licence will have been delivered in full.

Price and VAT

The prices shown are final prices in euros. Nothing is added at checkout, whichever country you buy from. Checkout asks for a billing address because tax rules on electronically supplied services depend on where the buyer is; Stripe keeps the address and we store only the country.

Delivery and withdrawal

The parcel is delivered immediately after payment. Before you pay you must tick two boxes that are not ticked for you: one agreeing to immediate supply and acknowledging that you therefore lose the 14 day right of withdrawal, and one confirming your age. Both are stored with a timestamp and repeated in your confirmation e-mail. The full text is on the withdrawal page.

Separately from the law: if you change your mind, write to us and we will send the money back. We do not argue about it.

Your content and our moderation

The name, link and drawing are yours. You give us a licence to show them on the map, on the parcel page and in previews of shared links, for as long as the licence runs. You promise that you have the right to use what you upload and that it follows the content rules.

In the first weeks every new name, link and drawing is checked before it appears. Until it is checked, the square shows a neutral colour and the words "waiting for approval", because silence there looks like a bug. If we hide or restrict anything, you get the reason in writing and you can appeal by replying to that e-mail.

Links

A link must use https. Every outgoing link carries rel="nofollow ugc". We promise no benefit to your search ranking and we may disable any link used for spam, malware, unrelated advertising or impersonation. You can switch your own link off at any time from your owner panel.

Business parcels

A business parcel is a subscription, yearly or monthly. You can cancel it with one click in your owner panel, without writing to anyone, from the first day. When it ends, the square and the drawing stay visible; what switches off is the clickable link, the verified mark and the monthly report of views and clicks. We charge for what actually costs us work and risk, and we say so here rather than hiding it.

The promise we will not break

A paid square is never overwritten. Not by another player, not by an event, not by a season and not by us. If a later game layer is ever added, it can only be played over unsold territory, and nothing in it can be bought.

Availability and liability

The map is a small service run by one company on modest hardware. We do not promise uninterrupted availability. When the part that handles buying is down, the map still loads and says so plainly instead of spinning. Our liability is limited to what the law allows us to limit; your rights as a consumer are not affected by anything on this page.

Complaints

Write to andrej@arling.sk. We answer every complaint, at the latest within 30 days. If we cannot agree, you can turn to the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia, www.soi.sk), which is the body for alternative resolution of consumer disputes in Slovakia. The EU platform for online dispute resolution was closed on 20 July 2025, so we no longer point to it.

Data protection

We keep your e-mail and your billing country, plus the name, link and drawing you choose and the two timestamped consents from checkout. The billing address and the payment card details are entered at Stripe and stay there; they never reach us. We do not ask for a telephone number and there is no password. Visit counts come from our own Umami, which sets no cookies; the owner panel loads no analytics at all. The general privacy policy applies; write to us to have your data deleted.

Changes and governing law

If we change these terms, owners are told by e-mail and the version below changes. A change never shortens a licence you have already paid for. Slovak law applies, and the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence apply where they give you more.
