Written out item by item, so that you know before you draw and so that our decisions are not arbitrary.
Why these rules exist
This is a public map with our name on it, and a drawing that breaks these rules is on it within minutes of being made. The rules are written out item by item rather than as a vague word like "decency", so that you know before you draw and so that our decisions are not arbitrary.
The company is run on Catholic Christian values and on the Four Agreements. That is not decoration here: it is why mockery of religion is on the list next to hate symbols, and why the whole thing is meant to be something a family can open together.
What is not allowed
- Anything unlawful under Slovak or EU law.
- Hate symbols and hate speech, including symbols of totalitarian movements.
- Any sexual content, and absolutely any sexual content involving minors.
- Incitement to violence, and glorification of violence.
- Mockery of religion or of religious symbols, blasphemy, and occult imagery.
- Political extremism and party campaigning.
- Obscenity and vulgarity. This map is meant to be something a family can open together.
- Trade mark or copyright infringement, including somebody else’s logo.
- Malware, phishing, spam and fraudulent links.
- Publishing another person’s personal data.
- Promotion of gambling.
- Pretending to be another person, company or public authority.
How we moderate
The drawing grid is 32 × 32 with a fixed palette of sixteen colours and no image uploads. That is not only a look: it makes an indecent picture much harder to draw and moderation possible for one person.
In the first weeks every new name, link and drawing is approved before it appears. After that, the first drawing of each new owner still goes through the queue, and later drawings appear straight away until something is reported. Names and links are checked on the server for length, banned words, the https scheme and impersonation.
We also keep a switch that hides the drawings in a whole region at once. It exists for the day somebody organises an attack.
How to report something
Every parcel has a Report button in the panel on the map. You can also write to andrej@arling.sk with the parcel number. This is our notice and action mechanism under Regulation (EU) 2022/2065, the Digital Services Act, and that e-mail address is our contact point for such notices.
Tell us the parcel number and what is wrong. An e-mail address is optional, but without one we cannot tell you what we decided.
What happens after a report
We look at every report, in good time, with care and without arbitrariness. If we hide or restrict content, the owner gets a statement of reasons naming the rule that was broken and what was done, and the person who reported it gets an answer. Both can appeal by replying to that e-mail, and a human reads the appeal.
Every decision, with its reason, is written down. Unlawful content is removed; content that is lawful but breaks these rules is hidden and the owner is told why.
What we do not do
We do not delete a square for a drawing we merely dislike, and we never take a paid square away from its owner and give it to somebody else. If a drawing has to go, the square stays yours and you can draw again.
