Withdrawal from the contract

What the law gives you, what you give up at checkout and why, and what we do anyway when you change your mind.

The short version

Digital content delivered immediately is the one case where the usual 14 day right to withdraw does not apply, but only if we tell you so before you pay and you actively agree. That is exactly what the two checkboxes at checkout are for, and this page is the full wording behind them.

Your right of withdrawal

As a consumer you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract, without giving a reason. The period starts on the day the contract is concluded, which for a service or digital content is the day you pay.

When that right does not apply

The right does not apply to digital content supplied other than on a tangible medium, if performance has begun with your prior express consent and with your acknowledgement that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal, and if we have given you confirmation of that agreement. This follows Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights, as transposed into Slovak law by the Consumer Protection Act, Act No. 108/2024 Coll., which replaced Act No. 102/2014 Coll. on 1 July 2024.

In practice: you tick the box, we record it with a timestamp, and we repeat the wording in your confirmation e-mail. Without all three of those steps you can still withdraw, even after you have the certificate.

The exact wording you agree to

I agree that the digital content (a parcel on the map) is supplied to me immediately after payment, and I understand that I therefore lose the right to withdraw within 14 days.

I am 18 or older, or I have the consent of the cardholder.

Neither box is ticked in advance and neither can be skipped.

We give the money back anyway

This is a five euro piece of entertainment. If you change your mind, write to andrej@arling.sk with your parcel number and we refund it, without asking why. This goes beyond what the law requires of us, and it is also the practical answer when a parent writes to us about a child.
