Terms for the data and the API
Short, because a long one nobody reads is a way of hiding things. What is written here is what the code does on the day it ships.
Who you are dealing with

What you get, and what you do not
The data is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It is sample based, it can be incomplete, and it can be wrong. It is a measurement of public technical signals, not an audit, not a security assessment and not advice. Decisions you make on it are yours.
Citing our numbers
You may quote and republish our figures, including in commercial work, with the measurement date and a link to the page you took them from. The date matters because the numbers move. That is exactly what we ask of ourselves when we cite anyone else.
What you may not do
- Resell the raw results in bulk, or republish the database as a database.
- Build a contact list, a lead list or any person directed product out of it.
- Use the service to attack, overload or scan anyone, or to avoid a site owner’s robots.txt.
- Work around the rate limits, share one key across unrelated products, or resell key access.
API keys
A key is issued once and shown once, on the success page and in one e-mail. We store only its sha256, so a lost key cannot be recovered. It is replaced instead, and the remaining balance moves to the new key. That is said here, in advance, rather than discovered later.
We may suspend a key that is used to attack a third party or to work around the limits. If we do, the unused balance is refunded.
Price, VAT and the invoice
Prices are stated without VAT. VAT is added at checkout according to the country of the buyer, through Stripe Tax under the EU one stop shop rules, and the invoice is issued through Stripe. There is no subscription, no automatic renewal and no card kept on file.
Withdrawal and refunds for digital content
Under Act No. 108/2024 Coll. on consumer protection, which transposes Directive 2011/83/EU, the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days ends for digital content supplied without a tangible medium once delivery has started with your express consent and your acknowledgement that the right is lost.
We do not use that against you. Our own rule is better and it is contractual: unused credits are refunded in full within 14 days of purchase, on a one line e-mail, with no reason required. Credits already spent are not refunded, because the work was done.
Crawler opt out, as an obligation
The promise on the crawler page is part of these terms, not a claim. A Disallow for StacklogBot in your robots.txt, or one e-mail, removes your domain from measurement within 24 hours.
Personal data
There is no personal data in the measurement pipeline: no registrant names, no e-mail addresses, no contact data. For rate limiting we hold a salted hash of the IP address with the salt rotated daily. A buyer’s e-mail address is held by Stripe and by us only as a hash for duplicate protection. The rules we hold ourselves to
No dark patterns: no fake scarcity, no countdown, no crippled free tier built to force a purchase, no subscription that renews behind you, no hidden fee at checkout.
We publish no user submitted content in this product, so there is nothing to moderate. What we do publish, we hold to one standard: nothing obscene, hateful, blasphemous, occult, violent or politically extremist, and nothing that identifies a person. If we ever publish something that crosses that line, write to us and it comes down.
Complaints, disputes and the law
Write to andrej@arling.sk first; we answer within three working days. These terms are governed by Slovak law. A consumer may use alternative dispute resolution under Act No. 391/2015 Coll.; the competent body is the Slovak Trade Inspection (www.soi.sk), and the European ODR platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence are not affected. Otherwise the courts of the Slovak Republic have jurisdiction.
Changes
We can change these terms. A change is announced on this page at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the current version is always the one published here. The version you bought under stays with your purchase.
