Questions
Before you pay.
What exactly do I get each week?
For every puzzle in your plan: an A4 PDF, a US Letter PDF, a PNG of the puzzle block and a PNG of the solution block. Both PDFs have the puzzle on page one and the solution on page two. Both PNGs are 945 pixels wide, which is 80 mm at 300 dpi, on white.
The Bulletin plan gets one puzzle a week, so four files. Bulletin Pro gets three puzzles a week, so twelve.
Will it fit my column?
The block is 80 mm wide. A two column A4 newsletter with 15 mm margins has columns of roughly 85 mm, so it fits with a little air. A three column page has columns of roughly 55 mm; scale the PNG down to that and it still prints at more than 200 dpi, which is sharper than most newsletters need.
Being honest about the limit of that claim: we measured the block in our own finished files, not in your layout. If it does not sit right, write to andrej@arling.sk with your column width and we will send you the block at that width.
When does the e-mail arrive?
The first one right after you pay, with the current week. After that every Monday morning, sent from our own server at 06:00 UTC. If an e-mail does not arrive, write to andrej@arling.sk and we will send the links by hand; we would rather do that than have you wait a week.
Do the links expire?
No. Keep the e-mail and you can download that week again whenever you like. The files sit at long unguessable addresses rather than behind a login, which means there is no password to lose and also that anyone you forward the link to can open it. Please do not forward it.
Can I skip a week or use an older one?
Yes. Nothing is dated inside the puzzle except the line under the title, and that line says the Monday the puzzle was sent, not a deadline. If you print monthly, keep four of them and use them when it suits you.
How do I cancel?
In the Stripe customer portal, where you log in with the e-mail address you paid with. You can cancel or change the plan at any time and it stays active until the end of the period you already paid for. Every week you already received stays yours to print.
Do I get a receipt or an invoice?
Yes. Stripe e-mails a receipt with VAT for every payment, including every renewal. Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. is the merchant of record: you buy from Stripe, which issues the document and settles the VAT, and ARLing supplies the files. If you are buying for a parish, a school or a company, enter its VAT number in the checkout and the document is made out to it.
Can I get my money back?
By law, no, and we want to say that before you pay rather than after. Digital content delivered immediately with your consent carries no right of withdrawal: in Slovakia that is section 19 paragraph 1 letter m) of Act No. 108/2024 Coll. on consumer protection, and across the EU it is Article 16 letter m) of Directive 2011/83/EU. Clicking the payment button is that consent, because the first sheet is sent at once.
That is the law, not our customer service. The sample is free and is a whole real week precisely so you can decide before paying. If a file is broken, a puzzle is wrong, or an e-mail never arrived, write to andrej@arling.sk and we will fix it or send the money back, because that is a different thing from changing your mind.
How is this different from your monthly issue?
The monthly Puzzle Post is a book of 100 puzzles for one reader on an e-ink tablet, 3.90 € a month. This is a licence for a publisher: one puzzle a week, sized for a printed column, with permission to print it for your readers. The puzzles never overlap, because every puzzle that goes into either one is struck off the same register.
