E-invoice rule EN 16931 schematron

BR-B-02: The document uses VAT category B

The document uses VAT category B (split payment) and category S (standard rate) at the same time. These two must not be combined.

Original wording of the rule

[BR-B-02]-An Invoice that contains an Invoice line (BG-25), a Document level allowance (BG-20) or a Document level charge (BG-21) where the VAT category code (BT-151, BT-95 or BT-102) is “Split payment" shall not contain an invoice line (BG-25), a Document level allowance (BG-20) or a Document level charge (BG-21) where the VAT category code (BT-151, BT-95 or BT-102) is “Standard rated”.

How to fix it

  1. Open the XML file of the e-invoice in a text editor.
  2. Add or correct the element the way the wording of the rule above asks for.
  3. Save the file and check it again with our checker. It runs in your browser, the file is never uploaded.
