When you post it anywhere, the caption is yours to write. A fair one: the puzzle, the time limit, and where the puzzle is from.
Send it to your own TikTok, as a draft.
You sign in to your own TikTok account. The video lands in your TikTok inbox as a draft, and nothing is posted until you post it yourself in the TikTok app. We never post for you and we never see your password.
- Pick the puzzle and the countdown above, press Make the TikTok copy and watch the copy through. That file, and nothing else, is what TikTok gets.
- Tick the box and press Continue with TikTok. A TikTok window asks you to allow two things: your basic profile (so we can show which account you signed in to) and uploading a video as a draft.
- Back here you see the name of the TikTok account. Press Send to this account if it is the right one, and keep this page open until TikTok confirms the draft.
- Open the TikTok app and tap the inbox notification. Edit, write the caption and post it from there. TikTok may need a few minutes to process the video before the notification arrives.
The TikTok copy is the same video without the credit line. TikTok does not allow apps to put a brand name, logo, link or promotional text into the videos they share, so we leave ours out, and the licence of our puzzle API makes an exception for videos sent with this tool.

The draft goes to this account only. When TikTok confirms the draft or reports a failure, we ask TikTok to revoke the permission. If you close this page before that, we ask for it then.

What goes where.
The short version: the video is made on your device, TikTok gets it only if you send it, and we keep no video, no token and nothing from your TikTok account. The full texts are our privacy policy and terms; this section is the part that is specific to this tool.
- Making the video
- Your browser loads the puzzle from our own static files, draws every frame and encodes the video. The video is not uploaded anywhere while you make, watch or download it.
- Signing in to TikTok
- Happens on TikTok's own page. We never see your password. TikTok gives our server a sign-in code, which our server exchanges for a permission with two scopes:
user.info.basic(your display name) andvideo.upload(a draft to your inbox). - What TikTok gets from us
- The video file, and nothing else. It passes through our server on Cloudflare only to reach TikTok's upload address and is not saved there. No caption, no hashtags: you write those in the TikTok app.
- What we keep
- No video, no TikTok token, no account id, no display name. The permission lives only in this page's memory, encrypted so that only our server can read it: it can upload for 15 minutes and can still be revoked for 24 hours, which is how long TikTok lets it live.
- Limits against abuse
- To keep the tool usable for everyone, our server counts requests per connection. The counter is filed under a pseudonymised fingerprint of your IP address: a keyed hash with a key that changes every day and that only our server holds, not the address itself. It is still personal data, so here is the rest: the counters delete themselves within two days, nobody reads them, and the legal basis is our legitimate interest in stopping abuse. We also count how many videos were sent in a day, as a single number without any address or account.
- Server logs
- Our server runs on Cloudflare Workers. Cloudflare keeps technical logs of each request, which can include your IP address and the request headers, for 7 days on our plan, for running and debugging the service. The TikTok permission appears there only in its encrypted form.
- Ending the access
- Our server asks TikTok to revoke the permission as soon as TikTok confirms the draft is in your inbox or reports that it failed. We also ask for it when you press Cancel, when the upload fails, when our limits refuse the upload, when you signed in but did not send within 15 minutes, and when you close or leave this page. While TikTok is still processing the video we wait, because revoking then can stop the draft; if that takes longer than 10 minutes, the page tells you and lets you choose. If TikTok does not confirm a revoke, the permission ends by itself within 24 hours. You can also remove it yourself at any time: in the TikTok app open Settings and privacy, then the security and permissions part, where TikTok lists the apps you have allowed, and remove ARLing. The exact names of these menus change between TikTok versions.

What people ask first.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no account on our side and no limit on downloads. The downloaded video carries one small credit line and no logo; the TikTok copy carries none. Sending to TikTok is limited to a few videos an hour per connection so that the tool stays up for everyone, and TikTok itself allows five pending drafts a day per account.
May I use the video in my class, on my channel or in my club?
Yes, with the credit line that is already in the downloaded video. That is the free licence of our puzzle API: personal and non-commercial use with the words Puzzle by ARLing, arling.sk next to the puzzle. A video sent to TikTok from this page is the exception and needs no credit in the picture. For a paid product, such as a book or a sponsored series, write to us first.
Why does the download have a credit line and the TikTok copy not?
The puzzles are ours and the free licence asks for one line of credit next to the puzzle, so the download carries it, small, under the puzzle and out of the way of the app buttons and the caption. TikTok's rules for apps that share videos forbid adding a brand name, logo, link or promotional text to the video, so the copy this page sends to TikTok has none, and our licence allows that.
Which browsers work?
A browser with WebCodecs and an H.264 encoder, such as current Chrome and Edge, makes an MP4 file directly and faster than real time. Where the browser cannot encode MP4 itself, the tool records the preview in real time instead and saves WebM, or MP4 in Safari; keep the tab in front while it records. TikTok accepts both.
What is the grey striped area in the preview?
Tick Show app buttons and you see where TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels put their buttons and the caption. Nothing in the video sits under them.
Can I choose the puzzle of the day?
Not yet. The tool uses the 6000 fixed puzzles of the API, 200 per kind and difficulty, so the same number always gives the same puzzle. That makes a series easy: day one is number 1, day two number 2.
