See which products miss Shopify Catalog requirements, and why
Agentic Product Check reads every active and unlisted product and shows each issue with its rule and source. Read-only.
Free, no install, no e-mail. It reads up to 20 products and 3 product pages of your public store.
Waiting for Shopify approval. The app was submitted to the Shopify App Store on 16 October 2026 and cannot be installed yet.
How your products reach AI channels
Shopify's agentic storefronts make your products available to AI channels such as ChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Meta through Shopify Catalog (Shopify Help Center: agentic storefronts).
- Your productsTitles, images, prices, variants, category and publishing in your Shopify admin.
- Shopify CatalogIncludes products that meet its requirements, from eligible stores.
- AI channelsChatGPT, Google AI Mode and Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Meta.
What the app checks. Your products, against the catalog's product requirements, the recommended fields and its own thresholds. Read-only.
Outside the app's view. Your Shopify plan and account standing, password protection, sensitive content, the category Shopify assigns, Hydrogen and headless storefronts, each channel's rules.
How the check works
Install from the Shopify App Store
The app asks Shopify for one permission: read products. There is nothing to set up.
The first check starts by itself
It reads every active and unlisted product. Draft and archived products are left out, and the app shows how many there are. A large catalog is read in parts, and the check keeps going if you close the app.
Fix what the list shows
Issues are grouped by rule, catalog requirements first. Select a product name to open it in your Shopify admin and fix it there.
Re-check the product
After a fix, select Re-check next to the product to see its new result. Free includes 25 re-checks a calendar month, and Pro has no limit.
Free covers the first full check. Pro keeps checking.
Start with Free: it checks every active and unlisted product once and shows every issue. A small catalog that rarely changes may not need more. Pro is for stores that add or edit products often.
| Feature | Free0 USD | Pro9.99 USD a month |
|---|---|---|
| Full check of every active and unlisted product | First check, then again 30 days after the last one | Weekly, plus any time you start one |
| Re-check one product after a fix | 25 a calendar month | No limit |
| New and changed products checked automatically | No | Yes |
| History and what changed since the last check | No | Yes |
| CSV export of all findings | No | Yes |
| Score with coverage, issues by rule, results by collection | Yes | Yes |
How Pro checks changes: Shopify tells the app when a product is created or updated, and the app checks it in a run every 10 minutes. A product that changes again within an hour is checked after that hour.
Pro: 9.99 USD a month
- 7-day free trial. The app shows the date your trial ends, and Shopify bills Pro after that date unless you cancel.
- Billed by Shopify, in US dollars.
- You can cancel at any time by uninstalling the app: according to the Shopify Help Center, uninstalling a paid app cancels its future recurring charges, though Shopify may still bill the current billing cycle (Shopify Help Center: uninstalling apps).
16 checks, each marked with where it comes from
The app marks every check with its origin, with the same four labels you see in the app: a Shopify Catalog requirement, a known catalog risk, a field Shopify recommends, or our own threshold.
Catalog requirement
From Shopify's published requirements, as far as the app can read them. A product that misses one does not enter the catalog automatically.

6 checks: product title, product image, price above zero, published to the online store, not unlisted, not hidden from search engines
- Product title. The product has a title.
- Product image. At least one product image. The app counts only images with an https address.
- Price above zero. Every variant has a price greater than zero.
- Published to the online store. Published to the online store sales channel. Shopify also accepts Hydrogen and headless channels, which the app cannot see, so a product published only there fails this check.
- Not unlisted. Unlisted products open only from a direct link and do not meet the catalog requirements.
- Not hidden from search engines. The seo.hidden metafield does not hide the product from search engines.
Catalog risk
Not a requirement, a known risk.

1 check: category set
- Category set. Without a category, Shopify may classify the product as Uncategorized, which the catalog excludes. Shopify can still classify it differently from the category you set.
Recommended field
Fields Shopify recommends for AI platforms. A missing one does not keep a product out of the catalog.

5 checks: product type, vendor or brand, named variant options, description, valid barcode
- Product type. The product type field is filled in.
- Vendor or brand. The vendor field is filled in. Use the real brand or manufacturer; the app cannot verify it.
- Named variant options. A product with several variants has option names, such as Size or Color, and values for each option.
- Description. The product has description text.
- Valid barcode. A barcode, if there is one, has a valid GTIN check digit. A missing barcode is not an error.
ARLing heuristic
Our own thresholds, never presented as platform requirements.
Related Shopify guidance for each check is listed on How we count.
4 checks: title of 3 characters or more, description of 80 characters or more, image alt text, in a collection
- Title of 3 characters or more. Our threshold for a descriptive title, not just a code.
- Description of 80 characters or more. Counted as plain text, after HTML is removed.
- Image alt text. The first product image has alt text.
- In a collection. The product is in at least one collection.
What a result means
Each check gives one of three results for each product.
- Pass
- The data is there and meets the rule.
- Fail
- The data is missing or does not meet the rule. The product is listed under the rule with a link to your admin.
- Unknown
- The app could not read the data, for example a metafield the store does not let it read. Unknown is never counted as a pass.
The overview shows a readiness score from 0 to 100 for the checks the app could evaluate. How we count explains the score, the coverage and every rule with its weight, threshold and source.
What the app does not do
- It does not change your store. Its only permission is to read products. You make every fix in your admin.
- It does not promise sales or a place in AI channels. Shopify and each channel decide which stores and products appear.
- It does not use AI. Every check is a fixed rule, the same for every store.
- It does not check your store or account. Shopify Catalog also has store conditions, such as your plan, password protection and account standing.
- It cannot see some product conditions: sensitive content, the category Shopify assigns, a noindex tag in your theme, and Hydrogen or headless storefronts.
Your data
- One permission: read products. No access to customers, orders, payments or theme code.
- Results, not your content. It keeps each product's title and check results, not your descriptions or images.
- No cookies, no analytics in the app. Inside your Shopify admin it loads only Shopify's scripts and its own.
- Deleted after uninstall. Access ends when we process the uninstall. Store data is deleted when Shopify sends its erasure request 48 hours later, except a few records the privacy policy lists.
Questions before you install
Will AI channels show my products after I fix the issues?
Nobody can promise that. The app shows which products miss Shopify Catalog requirements and recommended fields, and why. Which stores and products appear in an AI channel is decided by Shopify and by each channel.
Can the app change or break my products?
No. It can only read products. You make every fix yourself in your Shopify admin, and the app links each product there.
What do I get on the Free plan?
The full first check of every active and unlisted product with every issue, the score with its coverage, issues by rule and results by collection. You can re-check 25 single products a calendar month and run a full check again 30 days after the last one.
How is the free web check different from the app?
The web check needs no install and works for any public store, on Shopify or not. It reads a public sample: up to 20 products and 3 product pages. The app reads every active and unlisted product from your Shopify admin, including fields a public feed may leave out, such as barcodes and image alt text.
How much is Pro, and how do I cancel?
9.99 USD a month, with a 7-day free trial, billed by Shopify. You can cancel at any time by uninstalling the app: according to the Shopify Help Center, uninstalling a paid app cancels its future recurring charges, though Shopify may still bill the current billing cycle.
Why does a check say unknown?
The app could not read that data, for example a metafield the store does not allow it to read, or more variants or media than one request reads. Unknown is never counted as a pass. It lowers coverage instead.
When can I install it?
Once Shopify approves it. The app was submitted to the Shopify App Store on 16 October 2026 and is waiting for review. Until then, the free web check works for any public store.
Check your store's public data first
The web check is free and needs no install. It reads a public sample of any public store and shows the gaps it can find from outside, each with its source. When Shopify approves the app, you can install it from this page.
